My first opinion of educational research is that I was just looking for data to support the educational practices that I was already implementing. I wasn’t sure if all of the research would provide quality information that could be used to help create a quality classroom. However by learning how to use Galileo and the difference between a scholarly journal and research found on the internet that isn’t supported. I was able to find facts and details that not only support the best educational practices but also provides information that I can present to my administration to back up purchasing quality technology and changing lessons to provide technology to enhance the breadth and depth in our lessons.
Using these articles showing the quantitative data I can now provide my administration with statistics showing growth in educational numbers due to educational technology. This will provide my administration with the best economic advantages when deciding how to spend on educational technology while providing excellent resources for teachers. The qualitative data that I am able to research from the experiments practiced by educational experts will provide insight that I can give to my fellow teachers while introducing the new technology. This will provide me with an advantage of knowing the pros and cons of all technology I introduce ahead of time and find ways to trouble shoot as I help implement the new technology.
Overall I was able to understand how proper research allows all instructional technology coaches to become prepared with knowledge on the various implementations of technology in the classroom. Through this you can find the best resources and practices to enhance educational practices and keep up with the industry as it evolves with technology. Together armed with the new knowledge you can find programs that can allow administrators to work with their budget constraints and faculty concerns with any new technology.
